Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVAL – BAGDOGRA – DARJEELING (04 HOURS)
Our representative will be there to receive the Guest at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB).
He will be assisting for the transfer - Darjeeling - the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Mount Everest is the Queen of the hills.
Upon arrival check into hotel – Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center.
Over Night stay at Darjeeling
DAY 02: DARJEELING
Early morning at around 3:45 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters through primitive forests of oak, magnolia to Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchenjonga Peak (subject to clear weather) –
Tiger Hill: If you want to witness the first rays of sun hitting the twin peaks of Kangchenjunga, along with a panoramic view of Everest peeping through the peaks standing by its side, then Tiger Hills make for a perfect sunrise for you.
On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery At a grand elevation of 8,000 feet, the Yiga Choeling or old Ghoom Monastery is the oldest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery of Darjeeling.
Batasia Loop– Located around 5 km from Darjeeling, Batasia loop is a spiral railway track where the toy train takes a complete 360 degree turn
Back to hotel for breakfast - After breakfast rest for half an hour
After breakfast next round of sightseeing. Day city tour includes
Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, plays host to the only collection of Siberian Tigers in India and few other exotic animal species, such as Red pandas, Snow leopards, Himalayan black bears etc.
Natural History Museum A testament to the indigenous flora and fauna of the region, the Bengal Natural History Museum is a fascinating plethora of more than 4000 specimens being exhibited (Sunday Closed),
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute established to encourage mountaineering as an organized sport in India. (Closed on Thursday),
Ropeway: Darjeeling Ropeway is a cable car circuit where one can witness a myriad of exquisite landscapes, from the glorious snow-capped mountains.
Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday),
Tea plantation: tea plantations of Darjeeling are a unique aromatic experience to visitors of this hilly tourist trap.
Peace Pagoda: is one of the 70 odd such structures built under the guidance of Japanese monk Nichidatsu Fujii, is worth a visit during the daily pujas.
Back to hotel. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
DAY 03: DARJEELING – GANGTOK (05 HOURS)
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and transfer to Gangtok. Upon arrival check-into the hotel.
Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center -
Over Night stay at Gangtok.
DAY 04: GANGTOK
After breakfast drive for the city tour of Gangtok Sightseeing.
Visit to Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, The museum, housed in a traditional Tibetan-style mansion, boasts a jaw-dropping collection of artefacts related to Vajrayana Buddhism and the Tibetan culture.
Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), is one of the most important stupas in Sikkim, nestled in the stunning valleys of Gangtok The Stupa has around 108 prayer wheels.
Enchey Monastery, White Hall, Flower Show, Garden
Ganesh Tok, The temple is so small that it can accommodate only one person at a time and one has to crawl to reach there.
Hanuman Tok, is a very famous temple of Gangtok and is a maintained by the Indian Army.
Tashi View Point is a scenic beauty from where travellers can get a view of the magnificent Mount Sinilochu and Mount Kanchenjunga.
Banjhakri Falls, one of the finest falls close to Gangtok, etc.
Back to hotel – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center .
Over Night stay at Gangtok.
DAY 05: GANGTOK
Morning breakfast at hotel. Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir nearly 40 kilometers and 2 hours drive along the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, the home to the red panda and the blood pheasant with Rhododendron and other alpine trees. The Lake is oval shaped lake nearly 50 feet deep - Generally covered in snow for most of the year.
This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds –Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all.
Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers. Nathu La Pass was once the part of the ancient Silk Route. To visit this place, one need to collect a permit from Gangtok and only Indian citizens are permitted to see the Indian side of the pass and that too just on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Additional cost will be Rs. 6500
Back to Gangtok. Over Night stay at hotel.
DAY 06: GANGTOK – BAGDOGRA – DEPARTURE (05 HOURS)
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) to board flight / train for your destination.
