This tour highlights Bhutan’s famous monuments, sacred locations, and traditional way of life, from the enormous golden Buddha in Thimphu to the tranquil rice fields of Punakha and the striking cliffside location of Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Paro – Drive to Thimphu
After landing at Paro International Airport (2,280m), complete your arrival formalities and meet your local guide. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital nestled amidst forested hills. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax for the day. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the surroundings at leisure.

Day 2: Explore Thimphu – City Tour & Local Culture
Start your day with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a towering statue offering sweeping views of the Thimphu valley. Then head to the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal. Stop at Sangaygang Viewpoint for panoramic photos before visiting the Memorial Chorten, built in honor of Bhutan’s Third King.
In the afternoon, visit the majestic Trashichhoedzong, the administrative and monastic center of Bhutan. Spend your evening wandering through Thimphu’s vibrant markets and craft bazaar, where you can find handwoven textiles, wood carvings, and traditional Bhutanese art. Enjoy coffee and a pastry near the Clock Tower during your city stroll.

Day 3: Thimphu – Dochula Pass – Punakha (Approx. 75 km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, drive toward Punakha, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100m), dotted with 108 stupas and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. Enjoy tea and cookies at the Dochula cafeteria while taking in panoramic Himalayan views (on a clear day).
Arrive in Punakha and visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, strategically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Cross the impressive Punakha Suspension Bridge, adorned with colorful prayer flags, and enjoy momos and a soft drink near the bridge.

Day 4: Punakha – Return to Paro (Approx. 125 km / 4 hrs)
Today, enjoy a scenic drive back to Paro, retracing your route over Dochula Pass, where you’ll stop again for tea and cookies. On reaching Paro, head to a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse where you’ll experience a local lunch, try your hand at archery and dart games, and learn about rural life in Bhutan.
Later, explore the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and the neighboring Paro Rinpung Dzong, both rich in history and heritage. Check into your hotel for a relaxed evening.

Day 5: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
After breakfast, gear up for the highlight of your Bhutan journey – the hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). Built into a sheer cliff 900 meters above the valley, this sacred site is believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated in the 8th century. The moderate trek takes around 2 hours uphill, offering rewarding views and spiritual peace.
Return to Paro and enjoy a local brewery tour with a beer tasting session to wind down your day.

Day 6: Depart from Paro
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your onward flight. Your guide will assist with departure formalities. Leave Bhutan with unforgettable memories of its people, landscapes, and timeless traditions.
