Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (Approx. 55 km / 2 hrs)
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet your guide who will assist with your transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital nestled in a scenic valley. Check in at your hotel and relax. Depending on your arrival time, explore Thimphu’s vibrant weekend market (open Thu–Sun), where farmers and artisans from across the country sell local produce and handicrafts.

Day 2: Discover Thimphu – City Sightseeing
After breakfast, begin your cultural exploration with a visit to a traditional handmade paper workshop, followed by the renowned Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students master Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts (closed on Sundays and holidays). Then explore the Folk Heritage Museum and National Library, which preserves centuries-old texts and manuscripts.
After lunch, pass by the Memorial Chorten, built in honor of Bhutan’s Third King. Visit the iconic Buddha Dordenma viewpoint offering panoramic valley views, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu, the Takin Preserve (home to Bhutan’s national animal), and the peaceful Zilukha Nunnery.

Day 3: Thimphu to Paro – Museums, Dzongs & Local Culture
After breakfast, drive back to Paro. Visit the National Museum, showcasing Bhutan’s unique blend of natural history, culture, and art. Continue on foot to the impressive Paro Rinpung Dzong, a 17th-century fortress-monastery. Cross the traditional wooden cantilever bridge nearby and enjoy a walk through Paro town, known for its traditional architecture and charming handicraft shops.
In the evening, consider dining at a local restaurant to sample authentic Bhutanese cuisine.

Day 4: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Today’s highlight is a guided hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley. This sacred site is believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated in the 8th century, introducing Buddhism to Bhutan.
The uphill trek takes around 2 hours for a moderate hiker and rewards you with stunning views and spiritual serenity. After descending, return to the hotel to relax and unwind.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your onward journey. Carry back peaceful memories of the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
